Summer Berries to Cut Cancer Risk
Choosing a variety of brightly coloured vegetables and fruits can help to reduce your risk for certain types of cancer. Berries, such as strawberries, raspberries, saskatoon's and blackberries are in season during the summer months and are a delicious way to help you reach the 7 to 10 servings of vegetables and fruits adult men and women need each day. Berries are low in calories, fat and sugar and contain plant compounds called phytochemicals that help to protect our cells from damage. You can enjoy berries on their own. Berries are also delicious served with yogurt, or blended with milk in a smoothie.
